Hi, I'm Luis.
Designer, problem-solver, and person who still shoots film in 2025.

Ciutadella Park, Barcelona, 2024. Shot with a 1980's Chinon 35F-MA camera.
About me
I’ve always been that kid making things, experimenting with VHS videos, doodling on my grandma’s walls, and turning MS Paint into my first design tool.
Now I’m a Product Designer based in Chicago, originally from Mexico, raised in Boulder, shaped by the Midwest. I love art history (Modernism + Baroque especially), film photography, languages, coffee shops, airports, and watching how people move through the world.
I studied Digital Design at the University of Colorado and earned my master’s in HCI from the University of Michigan. Since then, I’ve worked across civic tech, automotive, fintech, and independent projects.
I’m learning Mandarin for fun and I’ve traveled to 21 countries so far.
Why design?
I care about how people experience technology, and I also care about whether a product is sustainable, scalable, and creates real value. My approach brings together human-centered thinking and product strategy, designing solutions that feel intuitive for users and support business goals like efficiency, adoption, and long-term growth.
